Photo credit Tokyo Disneyland Parks Blog. “ Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall” is the best place where every guest visiting Tokyo Disneyland can become a Prince or Princess! However, Cinderella still had the right glass slipper in her pocket, proving she was, in fact, who Prince Charming had been searching the Kingdom for! The slipper shines in the hall for all guests visiting the castle to remember the romance and soak it all in for themselves. This is because the left slipper, that she had left at the ball, shatters after Lady Tremaine trips the Grand Duke as he’s running to Cinderella for her to try it on. The hall in Cinderella Castle has a display of Cinderella’s glass slipper–her right foot’s slipper, of course. They aren’t just for ogling but are also available for purchase in selected retail locations across the world including Harrods in London and Saks in New York, as well as in some of the retailer’s own brand stores.Īctually, two years ago another master in the shoe making presented his own reinterpreted Cinderella shoe: Christian Louboutin. Thanks to Tokyo Disneyland having a glass slipper in Cinderella Castle, we can rest assured it is the left foot. The shoes were put on display in a Cinderella Exhibit presented by Swarovski during the Berlin Film Festival where the new movie had its European premiere. Rodgers and Hammersteins Adaptation Was Their Only TV Musical. However, this time not only could I appreciate the romantic story, but also the beautiful clothes the characters worn: I felt in love with the dress the Fairy Godmother creates for Cinderella on the eve of the royal ball-a cerulean gown with a voluminous skirt composed of more than a dozen layers of gossamer-fine silk in different shades of pale blue, turquoise, and lavender. The film stars some famous characters like Cate Blanchett as the Wicked Stepmother, Helena Bonham Carter as The Fairy Godmother and Lily James (already seen in movies like “Wrath of the Titans” and “Downtown Abbey”) as Cinderella. Although not a direct remake, it borrows many elements from Walt Disney’s 1950 animated musical film of the same name. Produced for Walt Disney Pictures, the story is inspired by the fairy tale Cinderellaby Charles Perrault (with some references from the Brothers Grimm’s version of the story). The film had its world premiere on February the 13th 2015, in the out of competition section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival and was released on March 13, 2015. Now, the famous glass slipper is no longer a childhood dream: it has turned into reality, created specifically for the movie that was released last week. I still remember my heart-shaped eyes stuck to the tv screen, watching the little mice Gas Gas and Giac sueing her dress for the Royal Ball, the cat Lucifero, the Fairy Godmother and her magic wound, the shiny dresses, the pumpkin turning into a beautiful coach and last but not least: the glass slipper she loses at midnight. When we were children and unconscious of the threats of this “syndrome” we just loved her. Let’s ignore the fact that this story has encouraged the “Prince Charming Syndrome” that until now has just led us to tears and broken hearts. Cinderella’s story has always had a big influence on girls: during our childhood most of us loved this character, a beautiful girl saved from her mean stepmother by the Prince Charming.
